Why '17thandRiggs.com'?

The intersection of ‘17th Street’ and ‘Riggs Place’ is where our founder lives in a lovely and walkable area of Dupont Circle in Washington, DC.  The area houses a mix of mid-rise apartments and brick rowhomes from early last century, many restaurants (from fast food and ethnic carry out to the highest-rated restaurant in the city), convenience stores, storefronts and embassies.  The location is the perfect inspiration for vibrant, modern living.


How do you select your furniture and lighting?

We are drawn to simple profiles.  Pieces that, once installed, delight but don’t overwhelm the senses.  While the furnishings and lighting are all high-impact, eye-catching designs, they don’t need to have all of the attention on them (unless that is what you want, of course). 


How long will it take to get my order?

We ask that you allow 3-4 weeks for delivery of your furniture and lighting.  Certain custom pieces (such as a particular selection of lamp shades) may require additional time, which is noted in the product description.  If there will be any significant change to the time frame, you will be notified within 24 hours of placing your order.  Regardless of lead-time, your credit card will be charged only when the item is leaving our warehouse and on its way to you.


Where do you ship to?

We ship orders over $100 for FREE throughout the Continental U.S.  This includes large furniture pieces.  If your order is under $100, it is a flat rate of $14.99 for the entire order.  We also ship outside the Continental U.S. and internationally.  If you live outside the Continental U.S., please email us at contactus (at) 17thandRiggs.com and we will provide you with a shipping estimate.  Note that we pass all international shipping fees on to you at cost and do not charge any additional fees.


How can you guarantee that I am getting the best price?

At 17thandRiggs.com we strive to price all of our products as affordably as possible.  If you should happen to find an item priced lower elsewhere, please send the link to the item in the “Notes” section of your order.  The price will be adjusted and you will only be charged the lower price.  Please note that it must be a current price.  As always, feel free to email us at contactus (at) 17thandRiggs.com with any questions regarding this.


Which manufacturers do you work with?

We work with a selection of manufacturers chosen for their high quality products and individual design aesthetic.  We are very particular about who we work with and every item passes the “I would LOVE to have this item in my home!” test.  Once we find products we LOVE we set out to build a long-term relationship with the manufacturer.  


Will you suggest other items that complement an item I buy? Will you help if I don’t find the exact product I need?

We would be happy to!  Just send us an email or call us with details on the item you like and / or what you are looking for.  Oftentimes we can find complementary and special options on our site.  Other times we can find an item for you from another source.   As noted above, our priority is for you to be completely happy and we promise that we’ll go out of our way to ensure that you are.  Of course, even if the items don’t come from our store!
